General information

Māori Beach is a coastal block within Rakiura National Park. No hunting is allowed within 100 metres of the Rakiura Track at any time of the year.

Huts and campsites

Access

Hunting blocks can be accessed by sea or air. You need to organise your own transport to and from the block. We recommend learning about transport options before you apply. Visit the Stewart Island website for more information.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed as this block is within Rakiura National Park.

Possum hunting

To trap possums on this block you need both a restricted hunting permit and a possum trapping permit. Get a possum trapping permit by emailing stewartisland@doc.govt.nz
