Tuapeka West hunting
Located in Coastal Otago north of the Catlins hunting in the Otago region
IntroductionYou can hunt fallow deer and pigs in the Tuapeka West hunting block on the eastern side of the Clutha River, downstream of Beaumont.

About this hunting block
Animals present are fallow deer and pigs.
This block is part of the Tuapeka West Scenic Reserve, on the eastern side of the Clutha River, downstream of Beaumont.
A significant amount of beech/tawhai forest, podocarp and kānuka covers the block. The terrain is steep but has some river flats as well.
Access is via Rongahere Road on the west bank of the Clutha between Beaumont and Clydevale. From here you have to use a boat to access the hunting block.
Alternative access to the block from the eastern side is by permission of landholders.
