General information

This block is part of the Trotters Gorge Scenic Reserve and lies at the southern end of the Horse Range, northeast of Palmerston.

Limestone bluffs and narrow ridges are a feature of this area, with kānuka, broadleaf, kōwhai and other scrub species covering the ridges and gullies.

Access

Access is via Horse Range Road from Palmerston to the Trotters Gorge picnic area. The road is suitable for all vehicles to reach the car park area at the road end.

Hunting is not permitted within the picnic area.

Know before you go

Dogs

Dogs are allowed in this block with a hunting permit. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times while in the picnic area.

If accessing the block over private land, you must have landholder permission to take your dog.
