Manuka Stream hunting

Located in Coastal Otago north of the Catlins hunting in the Otago region

You can hunt pigs and red deer in the Manuka Stream hunting block, located south of Macraes Flat township.

Animals present are pigs and red deer.

General information

This block consists of the Manuka Stream Conservation Area, south of Macraes Flat township and between the Strath Taieri and the Waikouaiti coast.

The block spans the Manuka Stream valley, mostly filled with kānuka and mānuka shrubland, steep in places with bluffs but with gentler sloping tussock grasslands around the edges.

Access

Access is off Ramrock Road, approximately 10 km from the junction with Nenthorn Road. From Ramrock Road there is marked foot access, but you must have landholder permission to cross the private land to the hunting block.

Access may be closed during lambing.

Know before you go

Dogs

Dogs are allowed in this block with a hunting permit. You must have landholder permission to take your dog over the private land to the block, and it must be on a lead and have been dosed.
