About this block

Covering just over 1500 ha, this hunting area comprises Ranfurly Bay Scenic Reserve, Wairakau Stream Marginal Strip and Akatere Historic Reserve.

The reserve offers tramping and hunting opportunities with the Wairakau Stream Track, Lane Cove Hut, day shelter and toilets in Pekapeka Bay. Hut must be booked.

Access

Public access via by boat, or the Wairakau Stream Track which starts at the end of Campbell Road.

Note the start of the track crosses private land. Hunters must be aware of reserve boundaries and keep dogs under control.
