Red deer, feral goats and pigs are distributed throughout the area. Chamois numbers are low and generally confined to the Mt Owen Massif area.

Deer and goats can be found in small numbers throughout the park, and pigs are present in the southern sections.

Pigs are found in moderate numbers throughout the Tākaka Hill Scenic Reserve area and are the main focus of hunting, with red deer and goats present in low numbers.

This hunting block runs north-south from Murchison between the Maruia and Matakitaki Rivers. Large numbers of feral goats along with red deer, pigs and chamois are present.

Large numbers of goats, along with red deer and pigs are present in the Six Mile Hunting Block.

Red deer and feral pigs are found throughout this area, with small numbers of goats towards the southern interior.

Mt Arthur/Tableland is a distinctive area between the Cobb, Karamea and Baton Valleys to the north-west of the Motueka Valley. Red and fallow deer, pigs and goats are present.

Moderate red deer numbers exist throughout the Braeburn Range area. Pigs are also present with the occasional chamois and goat.

Low to moderate red deer and pig numbers exist in this area. The occasional goat may be encountered on the fringes where conservation land meets private land.

West of Tapawera between the Karamea River, Lookout Range and Matiri Range. Red deer, goats and pigs are present.

The Howard area has moderate deer numbers throughout and the odd pig may be encountered now and then. The occasional chamois has also been spotted passing through.

Red deer are in low to moderate numbers. Pigs are distributed throughout, and the occasional feral goat may be encountered.

The Red Hills has low to moderate red deer numbers. Goats can also be encountered throughout the area and the odd pig may show up in the forested area but their numbers are generally low.

Moderate red deer numbers occur throughout the Upper Wairau area. Pig, goats and chamois are present in low numbers.

The Heaphy hunting block lies entirely within Kahurangi National Park. Hunt red deer, feral pigs and goats.

Red deer are in moderate numbers throughout the Travers area, frequenting the open tops and river flats more in the early morning and late evening. Chamois may also be encountered on the tops.

Red deer are in moderate numbers throughout the Sabine/D'Urville area, frequenting the open tops and river flats. Chamois may also be encountered on the tops.

This area encompasses the full length of the Wakamarama Range, extending from the Heaphy Track along the western side of the Aorere Valley. Hunt red deer, feral pigs and goats.

Red deer can be found throughout the Matakitaki/Glenroy area in good numbers. Chamois and goats are also present. Pigs are few, especially in the upper valleys.

Red deer are present in low numbers throughout this area, with feral pigs at lower altitudes. Goats range throughout at low numbers, but are more abundant in the lower limestone areas.

The Anatoki is a large catchment system based on the Anatoki River exiting Kahurangi National Park, approximately 5 km west of Tākaka. Hunt red deer, goats and feral pigs.

This hunting block encompasses all of the tributaries of the Waingaro River and includes the Snowdon, Devil and Douglas Ranges. Red and fallow deer, goats and pigs are present.
