General information
The hunting area basically encompasses the conservation land in the headwaters of the Puketeraki Forest and Seaward catchments.
The terrain is moderate to steep. Vegetation is predominantly beech forest with some shrubland, tussock and open tops. Pigs, red deer and chamois are present in low to moderate numbers. Other hunters may be encountered. Take precautions and identify your target.
Access
Foot access is from Lake Sumner Road following the Seaward River.
Landholders
There is no need to cross any pastoral lease land to gain access to this area.

Dogs
Dogs are not permitted in the Seaward hunting area as kiwi are present.
Huts
There are no DOC huts in this hunting area.
Additional information
Hunters are advised to check for current pesticide operations that may be in progress where they intend to hunt.
