This area is situated beside the north branch of the Waihao River. It has a reasonable number of wallaby, a few wild goats and the occasional red deer and wild pig.Species

About this hunting block
General information
This area is 20 km south west of Waimate. It is about 557 ha and consists of regenerating indigenous hardwood forest. The public conservation land adjoins exotic forest owned by Blakely Pacific who issue their own hunting permits.
Access
From Waimate follow Hakataramea SH82 to Waihao Forks. Turn right onto Stony Creek Road and take the next right onto Donnithornes Road. After about 2 km a 4WD track follows the public access to the river.
Unmarked tracks provide rough walking access further up the river valley.
Helicopter landings will not be approved.
