About this hunting block

General information

The Hunters Hills Conservation Area gives access to The Hunters Hills. These low lying, rolling hills are accessible from Hakataramea Valley. Hunting is allowed in two areas:

  • Northern end of Hunters Hills Station, which covers Longden Stream riverflats, part of Nessing Stream and Cabbage Tree Gully.
  • Between Anderson Stream and Peter Stream.

Access

Head north from Kurow up Hakataramea Valley Road, which becomes Hakataramea Pass Road. The DOC car park is approx. 1 km north of Round Hill Station on the eastern side of Hakataramea Valley Road. From the car park, cross the Hakataramea River on foot.

Note: Firearms are not permitted on the easement that accesses this area from the Mt Nimrod Reserve.

Dogs are not allowed in the Hunters Hills.
