About this hunting block

General information

This block is open year round and is subject to commercial aerial tahr recovery operations. There is also a possibility of some departmental control.

Access

Jollie River

A walking track into Jollie valley is signposted off Braemar Mount Cook Station Road, south of Jollie River bridge. This is a public access easement through private land so keep to the track. No hunting is allowed until you reach the public conservation land boundary (this is signposted). Dogs are not permitted via this access way.

Cass River

For access to the Cass valley, permission is required from Glenmore Station to use the 4WD access tracks. It is possible to walk up the Cass River from the Cass River Bridge on the Godley Peaks Road; permission is not required for this option. Dogs are permitted via this access with landowner permission.

Know before you go

Dogs

Dogs are only allowed in this block via the Cass River access and with permission from the landholders. Dogs must be on a lead at all times in riverbed areas and wetlands between the months of August and the end of February, because of nesting birdlife. Dogs are not permitted when you access the block via Jollie River.
