600-700 m return via same track
The Marokopa Falls Walk is a short and easy track located in the Waitomo area of the Waikato region. The trail leads through lush native forest to a viewing platform overlooking the impressive 35 m waterfall.
The waterfall is often described as one of the most beautiful in the country. Here the Marokopa River cascades over the undercut greywacke rock into a deep pool below.
Marokopa Falls is 15 km east of Marokopa and 31 km west of Waitomo, on Te Anga Road.
- The track is generally well maintained and includes stairs in some sections. It leads directly to designated viewing points for the falls.
- At times the track can be muddy, especially after rain.
- Parking is available at a small car park near the trailhead on Te Anga Road.
- Do not go past barriers or fenced areas.
