Wharewaka to Waipahihi hikoi is a fantastic journey along the shore of Lake Taupō. Be amazed by the natural environment and amenities to cater for all age groups and abilities.

Go and explore

Until the Guardian post is replaced, follow the adventure map to Two Mile Bay Sailing Centre at Step 12 and take a photo of your guardian there.

Getting there

  • From Taupō town centre travelling south along Lake Terrace continue until you reach a turning bay and posted road sign Wharewaka road. 
  • Turn right and follow road all the way to the end until you reach a dirt/gravel car park. This is where you start the Wharewaka Hikoi
