Robert Cunningham Bruce, an early conservationist gifted several patches of forest and this is one of them – good on ya Bruce! Check out the mighty trees – is that a bellbird up there? Getting there: Bruce Park is 60 km north of Palmerston North. Turn off SH 3 onto SH 1 in Bulls, then onto Aldworth Road 4 km south of Hunterville. Just past the intersection, on the northern side of the road, there is a small clearing to park the car and pedestrian access to the bush following the old road.
