Cape Saunders is a headland on the Otago Peninsula.

The sea around the headland is unpredictable, prone to sudden big waves that wash over the rocks and can sweep people out to sea.

Rock fishing at Cape Saunders is very dangerous. Many people have had accidents here – people have been washed into the sea, injured, and even died at Cape Saunders.

No public access to Cape Saunders – do not trespass

Cape Saunders can only be accessed through private land and this is closed to the public. Crossing this private land without permission from the landowner is trespassing.
