Canaan Downs Scenic Reserve

Located in the Nelson/Tasman region

This hilltop reserve has stands of ancient beech trees, bounded by rolling meadow scattered with eerie rock formations. There are mountain bike tracks and a campsite.

From SH60 on the Tākaka Hill Rd turn off at Canaan Rd and follow it 11 km to end.

Wasp numbers can be high in summer. Always carry antihistamine and especially an epipen  if you are allergic to wasp stings.
