Introduction
This walk rewards the effort of a short climb with panoramic views of Mt Ngauruhoe and the surrounding area.1.2 km return via same track
Dog access
After a short climb through low beech forest, the track emerges into alpine shrublands with panoramic views of Mt Ngauruhoe and the surrounding landscape.
The track begins 150 m above the Tongariro National Park Visitor Centre.
No drones
Unauthorised use of drones is prohibited. You must have a permit to fly a drone.
DOC does not generally approve permits to fly drones in this national park and we do not recommend you apply for one.
