Tongariro National Trout Centre Society, in partnership with the Department of Conservation, aims to:
- enlighten and inform children and educate all visitors about trout, the Taupo fishery, and New Zealand freshwater ecology;
- see and enjoy Trout in their natural habitat;
- collect, preserve, maintain and display freshwater fishing memorabilia and artifacts; and
- encourage participation in recreational fishing as a healthy and pleasurable activity.
