Lake Rotoiti and Lake Rotoma Scenic Reserves

Located in the Bay of Plenty region

Walk through native forest, then swim or picnic at a lake at the end.

Drive out of Rotorua on SH30 towards Whaka. Around Lake Rotoiti, Lake Rotoehu, and then Lake Rotoma are 30 km to 40 km from Rotorua. They are visible from SH30, with multiple lay-bys and stopping areas easy to identify.

Lake Rotoiti Scenic Reserve is governed by the Lake Rotoiti Scenic Reserves Board and managed by DOC.
