The Mokoroa Falls Track starts at Horsman Road. You pass the junction with the Goldie Bush Walkway on your left after about 5 minutes.
The track follows a gentle path along a ridge to a viewing platform where you can view the Mokoroa Falls.
From the viewing platform, steep steps lead down to the Mokoroa Stream where you can view the falls from the bottom. Take care as the steps are slippery.
It is 2.2 km (1 hr 15 min) back to the junction of the Goldie Bush Walkway and Mokoroa Stream Track, and a further 1.3 km (35 min) to Constable Rd.
The Mokoroa Falls track is inbetween Muriwai and Waitākere, on Auckland's west coast, approximately 45 km from Auckland City. It is an additional track which can be accessed from Goldie Bush Walkway.
Access to the track is from Horsman Road, Waitākere.
Note: Parking is limited. Do not park in the 'No Parking' areas signposted. These areas allow unrestricted access for local residents and emergency services. Auckland Transport may tow your vehicle.
A substantial rock fall occured at Mokoroa Falls during March 2014 and again in August 2020. There are unstable rocks and a danger of further rock falls. Stay well clear of the area below the Mokoroa Falls.
