Wedding ceremonies, receptions and other events can be held in the Mansion House Reserve, but not inside the house itself. Marquees may be used and Mansion House is available for wedding photos.
Mansion House may also be visited during opening hours (or we may be able to arrange for a special opening of the house if required).
Note that the admission fee to Mansion House is in addition to the wedding and event permit fees (see below). Normal entry fees into Mansion House are $4 per adult and $2 per child (5-15 years).

Mansion House Cafe
The Mansion House Cafe is located in the Kawau Island Historic Reserve and caters for weddings and other events. Contact Maree Pickett on +64 9 422 8903.
Permit and fees
You will need a permit for your event or wedding.
These are standard charges for holding weddings and other events within the Hauraki Gulf Maritime Park.
- Permit application fee: $100 + GST ($115 GST incl)
- Site fee: $150 + GST ($172.50 GST incl)
- Site fee if you intend to set up a marquee: $300 + GST ($345 GST incl), marquee not included
There may also be additional costs for specific sites, and if you need DOC staff assistance to set up your event.
Note: DOC does not hire out marquees. You will need to organise your own marquee and transport it to the island. Contact us for DOC approved suppliers and transport providers.
