Janet has been a working artist all her life – combining painting with travelling in different parts of the world. She is a community artist with international experience who has worked on hundreds of projects.


Recipients of numerous awards and residencies, Janet has exhibited widely in solo and group shows.

Key concepts of her community art projects are to engage local communities to celebrate the history, landscape and identity of their immediate environment.

My expectation on going to Dusky Sound, one of the most beautiful places in the world, was that I would paint the land. But in fact I was inspired by the vast knowledge and variety of work that DOC workers do to protect and promote our natural heritage. This is my tribute to them.
