DOC has appointed Aaron Fleming to the role of Operations Director for Southern South Island.Date: 22 September 2017
Aaron Fleming
Aaron, a 2017 recipient of the Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award for Public Sector/Community Leadership, joins DOC from his most recent role as Director, National Library Te Puna Matauranga o Aotearoa with the Department of Internal Affairs.
A keen outdoorsman with a passion for the natural environment, Aaron has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmental Studies and Geography and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration majoring in Public Policy.
He says he is looking forward to working with the Southern South Island team to make a valuable contribution across all aspects of conservation and is driven by people, values and results.
Aaron will relocate from Hamilton to take up his new role on Monday 6 November and be based in Queenstown. Harry Maher will remain as acting Operations Director in the interim.
