The deadline for public comments for the Department of Conservation’s review of Kaikoura sperm whale tourism has been extended by two weeks to Friday 11 May 2012.
DOC has extended the date from the previous closure date of Friday 27 April in response to requests for the additional time from intending submitters of comments.

The review will determine how commercial whale watching off Kaikoura is to be managed in the interests of the sperm whales. It is being carried out ahead of the expiry of a 10-year suspension of new permits for the activity.
