The Department of Conservation (DOC) are giving you an exclusive chance to win a guided day trip for two to Moutohora (Whale Island) in celebration of Conservation Week (11th to 18th of September) says Community Relations Ranger, Trudi Ngawhare.

“To go in the draw to win you must correctly answer three questions about Moutohora (Whale Island) and get your entries in before 3pm Thursday 8th September 2011.”
 
“It’s a great way for the public to learn about the projects currently undertaken and the history of this iconic island.”

“There is also the chance to paddle at your very own hot water beach so get your entries into the draw” says Ms Ngawhare.

Conservation Week is a national event which encourages New Zealanders to appreciate our natural and historic heritage through awareness and enjoyment. The theme this year is “Show New Zealand why you love it!” It’s a chance to highlight conservation projects happening in our community and the work groups undertake to protect and enhance for our enjoyment, for our health and prosperity.

Entries must be received before 3pm on Thursday 8th September 2011 as the draw will be Friday 9th September at the Opotiki DOC Office.  Winners will be announced during Conservation Week.
