“Thanks heaps to everyone who voted for us”, said Website Supervisor Nick Butler. “We’re really chuffed that people appreciate the work that everyone in the department does to try to make sure the website gives visitors the experience, information and services they’re after.

“All the DOC staff who create the words and photos and video, all the web publishers who put the web pages together, all the techies who work to constantly improve the site should give themselves a pat on the back.

“What makes this award special is that it’s voted on by the actual people who use the site. The ONYA award we won last year was a great recognition but that was chosen by a panel of expert judges. The NetGuide awards are picked by the people the website is designed for.”

A record-breaking 270,000 people voted in these awards. The winners will be announced tonight (Thursday 25 August).
