Introduction
The Bay of Islands Refuse Barge for boaties visiting the Bay of Islands this summer is back on the water from 23 December 2010 to 8 February 2011 and will be moored off the eastern end of Moturua Island.Date: 20 December 2010

The Bay of Islands Refuse Barge for boaties visiting the Bay of Islands this summer is back on the water from 23 December 2010 to 8 February 2011 and will be moored off the eastern end of Moturua Island.
This service is provided by the Department of Conservation, the Far North District Council and the Northern Regional Council.
Boaties and Urupukapuka Island campers can buy stickers for their own rubbish bags for $5 for two. Stickers can be bought from the following outlets:

- BOI Yacht Club, Waitangi
- Paihia i-site, The Wharf, Paihia
- Opua Store, Beechy Street, Opua
- Opua Marina, Baffin Street, Opua

- DOC office Kerikeri, 34 Landing Road, Kerikeri
- DOC boat patrol rangers, on the water
- DOC camp host, Urupukapuka Island
Dene Harrison, Recreation Ranger – Bay of Islands Area Office DOC says, “Please remember to use the glass and plastic bottle recycling facilities available on the barge. You will help keep the Bay beautiful and save yourself money at the same time.”
