Associate Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced this year's appointments to the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board.

Associate Minister of Conservation Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced this year’s appointments to the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Baker and the reappointment of Warren Inwood and Kori Hutana to the board,” Associate Minister said.

“Doug Baker’s knowledge and experience is in farming and in pest monitoring. He is also a hunter, a fisherman and a rock hound. 

Kori Hutana is an excellent advocate for the needs of tangata whenua in relation to conservation.

Warren Inwood is the current board chairperson and he brings value contacts with farmers and is interested in tramping, and geology.”

“Conservation board members play an important role in representing local communities and advising the Department of Conservation (DOC). With the wide-ranging experience and skills the board members have between them they are able to make a valuable contribution to conservation decisions.”

Ms Wilkinson thanked retiring member Anne Hall, Trish Casey and James Costello for their contribution to the board and to conservation.
