Associate Minister of Conservation, Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced this year’s appointments for the Canterbury Aoraki Conservation Board.

Associate Minister of Conservation, Hon Kate Wilkinson today announced this year’s appointments for the Canterbury Aoraki Conservation Board.

“I’m pleased to announce the appointment of David Round and Jan Finlayson and the reappointment of Wiki Baker and John Keoghan”, Associate Minister said. 

David Round is a university lecturer in environmental law, land law, legal history and philosophy. David is a long serving member of the National Executive of Federated Mountain Clubs and is a keen tramper.

Jan Finlayson is involved in a variety of conservation conscious groups and is passionate in developing links between conservation and education. Jan has an amateur interest in geology, zoology and botany.

Wiki Baker is a long serving member on the board and has steadfastly represented the community since the Department of Conservation establishment in 1987. 

John Keoghan has strong involvement in the revision of conservation management strategy for Canterbury. His expertise is in land management.

Ms Wilkinson thanked the two retiring board members, Ines Stager, Peter Foley, Jo Kane and Eric Spurr for their efforts and commitment during their time on the board.
