Introduction

Environment Aotearoa 2015 is a new landmark national environmental report, independently compiled by Ministry for the Environment and Statistics New Zealand.

Date:  21 October 2015

Environment Aotearoa 2015 uses information gathered from a wide range of sources and agencies, including the Department of Conservation.

It gives a clear and independent overview of New Zealand's environment and focuses on five key areas: air, atmosphere and climate, freshwater, land and marine.

The report includes a specific chapter on the impacts of environmental issues on New Zealand's species and ecosystems.

Environment Aotearoa is designed to provide information about activities that are affecting our environment and to inform decisions about how to manage natural heritage.
