Inspections are underway and tracks and facilities are being progressively re-opened once their safety has been assured.
Do not use tracks which still have closed notices in place. Visitors in the Northern and Western South Island can expect to encounter staff using chainsaws or other equipment.
Visitors should also check:
- Latest NZ Transport Agency information for the Nelson Tasman region including Golden Bay, Takaka. The limited convoy access may close at any time if weather conditions deteriorate so check the latest access times and restrictions. Note: Cobb Valley Road, a popular access point into Kahurangi National Park, is still closed due to a landslip. Mt Arthur and Tableland access into Kahurangi National Park via the Graham Valley has opened to 4WD vehicles.
