The New Zealand Police and wider Government agencies are dealing with an anonymous threat to deliberately contaminate food supplies with 1080 poison. 

Received in opposition to 1080 use in New Zealand, the threat is being treated with utmost seriousness by the New Zealand Government.

The investigation

The New Zealand Police are leading a criminal investigation into the threat. This investigation is called Operation Concord. 

Food safety

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is leading communications around food safety. 

Government agencies working together to respond

A range of other Government agencies, including the Ministry of Health, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Ministry for the Environment and DOC, are working together to respond to the situation and support the police with their investigation.
