DOC commissioned research on the effects of aerial 1080 pest control operations on trout after concerns were raised by anglers about the possible risks from fish eating poisoned mice.
There is significant public interest in the preliminary results. DOC says the risk to humans is low.
See below for information on planned 1080 operations and the laboratory research.
