Name: Wendy Sullivan
Role: Ranger, Community
Based in: Picton
I’ve worked for DOC for 17 years around New Zealand, both in biodiversity and community roles. Working in different places means I’ve been involved in many ecosystems and with numerous species – islands, braided rivers, forest environments, glacier country, wetlands and the marine environment.
In all my roles there’s a reccurring theme of assisting the community in learning about, and undertaking, conservation actions.
The top of the South has many passionate groups and individuals working towards a predator-free New Zealand. It’s inspiring seeing the scientific and methodical way communities are approaching trapping.
