Talbot Forest Scenic Reserve covers approximately 26 hectares at the western edge of Geraldine South Canterbury.

It supports more than 90 indigenous vascular plant species, including one at-risk (declining) species (Brachyglottis sciadophila) and a significant number of locally-uncommon species. It has a very high plant species diversity for indigenous forest in eastern South Canterbury.

The reserve has been surveyed twice in 1971 (G Kelly) and more recently in 2012 (M Harding).
