Buller conservation volunteer group
Every second Tuesday: Buller conservation volunteers meet every two weeks, year round, to work on a variety of interesting conservation projects.

When

8:45 am, every second Tuesday. Arrive on time at the DOC Russell Street Office to receive your project and safety briefing.

Description

The group assists with conservation projects such as maintenance of historic and recreation facilities, weed control, planting of native species and conducting bird surveys.

What to expect

Fitness level required: A reasonable level of fitness is required as most volunteer days involve physical work.

Skills required: No specific skills are needed but volunteers must be comfortable using hand tools.

What to bring

Volunteers must bring their own lunch. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Sturdy fully enclosed footwear with a sole that provides good grip and wet weather gear is essential. Most other equipment is provided.
