We are looking for adventurous people to register for Dunedin’s War on Weeds.
October - April: Volunteer as a camp host at Glencoe or Trotters Gorge campsite for one week or more over the summer.
Help protect the wildlife at Sandfly Bay by teaching visitors about it.
The crew will be working on some of our high-priority tracks at Sandymount or Sandfly Bay, or on the Grahams Bush and Organ Pipes (Dunedin City Council) tracks.
Volunteers will travel to the Otago Central Rail Trail to paint small gangers and station buildings between Hyde and Middlemarch.
Come and spend a fun-filled weekend with like-minded individuals and knowledgeable conservationists.
Each year, volunteers help DOC rangers to search for yellow- eyed penguin/hoiho nests at monitored breeding areas along the Catlins coast.
Rangers are needed to provide assistance and conservation education to visitors, as well as to maintain facilities.
