Join DOC on a day out enhancing habitat for New Zealand’s native freshwater fish species that call the lower Clutha River/Mata-Au catchment their home.
November 2020 – April 2021: Curio Bay is one of Southland's most popular destinations, home to endangered endemic species such as Hector's dolphin and yellow-eyed penguins/hoiho, and the remarkable fossilised forest.
October - April: Volunteer as a camp host at Glencoe or Trotters Gorge campsite for three weeks or more over the summer.
October 2020 – April 2021: Help protect the wildlife at Sandfly Bay by teaching visitors about it.
9–13 November 2020: Volunteers are needed to give the place a spruce up before the busy summer season.
23 November 2020 to 29 March 2021: Volunteer rangers are needed to provide assistance and education to visitors, as well as maintenance of facilities at Nugget Point Lighthouse Reserve/Tokatā.
