DOC-led volunteering is 5-days, usually Monday to Friday. Volunteers travel to the Motu on the DOC supply boat. Six hours mahi a day are expected on tasks to support the island ranger. We place volunteers in pairs.
Tasks
Tasks may include:
- mowing, scrub bar trimming, weeding
- track and drain maintenance
- tools maintenance
- workshop tidy and stocktake
- cleaning house interior
- exterior painting of house or buildings including preparation
- building maintenance
- waste management
- chipping oysters shells off the wharf
- beach clean up
- support for the Motuihe Restoration Trust.
