The Minister of Conservation gives notice, under section 17ZG(2)(a) of the Conservation Act 1987, of the intention to establish a process for the future allocation of grazing opportunities within Dunstan Downs Conservation Area.
Pursuant to section 17ZG(2)(a) of the Conservation Act 1987, a person must not apply to the Minister for a concession if the Minister has exercised a power under that section.
Accordingly, DOC will not accept applications for grazing concessions within Dunstan Downs Conservation Area while the allocation process is being developed.
The Department is working to design a fair and transparent allocation process. Further information, including details of how interested parties may participate, will be published on this webpage in due course.
Location
Dunstan Downs Conservation Area is located along the State Highway 8 between Omarama and the Lindis Pass.
