Pitt Street Recreation Reserve is currently used as a car park by those attending the urban marae on the adjoining reserve.

It is proposed that this reserve is reclassified to better facilitate this use and align with the planned reclassification of the adjoining reserve.

Under the provisions of Section 24 Reserves Act 1977 it is proposed to change the classification of the Pitt Street recreation reserve to “local purpose (marae)” reserve.

About the reserve

Pitt Street Recreation Reserve is used for car parking and other activities primarily by visitors to Russell Park Headquarters Government Purpose Reserve and building (the urban marae).

The land’s legal description is Allotment 8 Section 9 Town of Russell and it is 0.0632 ha.
