We have experienced a growing interest in utilising beehive sites in Kaweka Forest Park. To best manage this opportunity, the Minister of Conservation is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) to maintain hives at select locations.

To manage this allocation process, the Minister has implemented Section 17ZG(2)(a) of the Conservation Act 1987. This enables the Minister to invite applications and/or encourage specific applications.

DOC will review all submitted EOI's once the submission period has ended. At this stage, we may seek further information from the interested parties which could be through a tender or request for proposals process.

Those who submit an EOI will be given additional context about the next stage of the process after submissions have closed.

DOC may then invite a respondent to apply for the concession opportunity.
