Have your say on a statement expressing New Zealand's interests in Antarctica. Comments close 30 July 2018.

New Zealand has been in Antarctica since 1957 promoting research and peace, so we have a long history and commitment to responsible stewardship there.

We want New Zealanders to understand why Antarctica and the Southern Ocean are important to us.

To do this the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) are introducing a statement of New Zealand’s interests in this region and what we're doing there. Get more information and read the statement.

MFAT are keen to hear your views on this statement. Email your comments to antarctica@mfat.govt.nz before 30 July 2018.
