Public conservation land: Russell Park Headquarters Government Purpose Reserve and Pitt Street Recreation Reserve.

Summary of proposal

The property has been used as a marae by the Kororareka Marae Society for the past eight years and it wishes to continue this use.

As per the application, the purposes of the Society are:

  • To provide a central community centre and facilitate for local persons and Maori.
  • To practice and promote Tikanga Maori and other cultural teachings.
  • To act in a community support capacity.
