Words on a Wing project

This resource is based on the Word on a Wing project in 2010 that encouraged people throughout New Zealand to write messages about biodiversity on cardboard feathers and attach them to two giant wire-and-steel kākāpō.

The messages were about:

  • why biodiversity matters
  • what we want world leaders to do about its loss
  • what we are going to do ourselves

One of the kākāpō travelled to the Convention on Biological Diversity’s 10th meeting in Japan.
