There is a public DOC FTP server that you can access certain documents from, such as meeting minutes.
Viewing our public files
The public link to the FTP server is: ftp://public:email@example.com:21/Public/
Click on the link above (or a specific link to the FTP server on our website) and you should be automatically logged in.
- You can browse the folders by clicking through directory levels.
- Click on a link to a document to open it.
- If the document doesn't open, you can right-click on it and choose to save the file to your computer and open it from there.
Bulk downloading of files
Paste the link into Windows Explorer (your computer's file manager). From here you can select, copy, and paste mulitple files from the FTP server onto your own computer.
If you are asked to log in
Sometimes, you might be asked to log in again. This can happen if your session on the FTP server has timed out.
If you are asked for a username and password, you can try the public link ftp://public:firstname.lastname@example.org:21/Public/ again to log you in automatically; or log in by entering the following:
User name: public
If another login window appears when you click on a file, choose to be an 'anonymous user'.
If the FTP site doesn't open
If you are using a work computer, try the following options:
- Go to Tools > Options > Advanced tab > and untick 'Use passive FTP' under the Browsing options (for Internet Explorer)
- Get in contact with your IT team and ask them how to allow your browser to open the public DOC FTP site (ftp://public:email@example.com:21/Public/)
- If you are logged in remotely, try accessing the FTP server on the browser of your local desktop, rather than the remote one.
If you are using a home computer, you can try the following:
- Use a different browser
- Paste the link into Windows Explorer (your computer's file manager) and open it there
If you are still having issues, you can download a free FTP client such as Filezilla.
