MEET THE CLIMATE CHALLENGE
Nature already has some of the solutions to a warming planet.
It feels 17 degrees cooler under a tree. Plant one and you’ll also be supporting biodiversity and capturing carbon.

WHAT YOU
CAN DO
-
Plant a native tree. Green spaces cool cities, prevent erosion and soak up excess rainwater.
-
Get to know your nearest wetland. Healthy wetlands remove carbon from the air. That makes restoring and protecting wetlands more important than ever.
-
Dunes, estuaries and mangroves are natural protectors of our coastline. Connect with a group restoring a coast near you through the Coastal Restoration Trust, or check out DOC’s resources on estuaries.
HOW YOU'LL
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Acting for nature is acting for the climate. Whether you get trapping, make a critter a home or something else, you’ll be helping vulnerable species and ecosystems to meet the challenge of climate change.
ARE YOU IN?
It takes everyone to make a difference for nature. Every little bit helps.
NATURE'S IN
TROUBLE
Thousands of our native species are heading towards extinction, but it’s not too late to save them.
All around New Zealand, Kiwis are bringing nature back.
