HOW YOU'LL
  MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Tara iti/New Zealand fairy terns are our rarest native birds – in July 2025, fewer than 40 remained. With your help, it’s still possible to save these treasured manu. In 2025, 19 tara iti chicks fledged – up from 9 in 2024 and 3 in 2023.

The New Zealand Nature Fund is the charitable trust responsible for funds donated to the tara iti project and other important conservation work. Your donation can help save species like tara iti from extinction.
