ALWAYS BE
NATURING
Kiwis everywhere are helping nature bounce back – in our backyards, communities and even from our couches. Join the Always Be Naturing movement and be part of the change.
WE COUNT ON NATURE, SO WE’RE COUNTING IT.
Nature isn’t scenery. Nature is a society that we rely on for everything, every day. It’s behind our identity and our way of life.
NATURE'S IN TROUBLE
We're losing what makes us different. 28,000 of New Zealand’s known species are found nowhere else on Earth. Over 4,000 of them are threatened with extinction, or at risk of becoming threatened. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
We can change that, but it will take all of us.
GET TO KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOURS
GET NATURING
FOR NATURE
Naturing is what happens when we do things that connect us to nature. And – here’s the important bit – the more we connect with nature, the more we care for it.
Talking, walking, playing, learning, thinking, dreaming. If it’s in nature, it’s naturing.
What will your next act of naturing be?
PUT A BELL ON YOUR CAT
You love them, but they love giving you native birds as a gift.
Save our native species and give Mr Whiskers some new jewellery.
MOONLIGHT AS A BIRD BODYGUARD
Join a predator-free group and save native birds one trap at a time.
Predator-free groups are social and play a vital role in protecting nature.

Cycle or walk to work, the park, or the shops.
It's good for your health and gives you time to really notice nature.
