The conservation status of all known reptiles in New Zealand was reassessed using the New Zealand Threat Classification System (NZTCS).

This report provides a list of these species, along with a statistical summary and brief notes on the most important changes since the previous assessment.

In total:

  • 1 species is Extinct
  • 59 species are Threatened
  • 69 species are At Risk
  • 5 species are Not Threatened
  • 8 species are Non-resident Native
  • 16 species are Data Deficient
  • 1 species is Introduced and Naturalised.
