Statutory land management
There are a number of statutory requirements associated with the management of public conservation land.

The statutory land management team manages the administrative processes relating to public conservation land, providing advice on land related issues. We can help if you are:

  • seeking clarification of an area’s status and what this means
  • interested in exchanging or purchasing an area of public conservation land
  • seeking a consent for a land transaction involving public conservation land, eg Public Works Act consent.

Delays in processing

We currently have a backlog of applications. We're working hard to prioritise older and urgent applications. If you have any concerns contact slm@doc.govt.nz.
