Motu Trails Charitable Trust
Motu Trails Charitable Trust is the promotion and governance hub of Motu Trails, one of 22 Great Rides on The New Zealand Cycle Trail.

Motu Trails logo. Trustees are volunteers, coming from Gisborne, Motu, Ōpōtiki and Tauranga, and bring a wide range of business and local community experience to meetings.

The trust works closely with the governance partners of Motu Trails:

  • DOC
  • Ōpōtiki District Council
  • Trust Tairāwhiti, and
  • Whakatōhea Māori Trust Board.

It releases brochures, runs a website and Facebook page, and supports media exposure of the trails.

It also runs an official partner programme for businesses and organisations. Trail users can be sure that with an official partner they will get quality service.

The trust is also a registered care group for the Tirohanga dunes east of Ōpōtiki.
